A banda Weezer anunciou o lançamento de seu novo álbum autointitulado, “The Gold Album”, previsto para 21 de agosto via Reprise/Warner. O disco é precedido pelo single “We Might As Well be Strangers”, um dueto com Karly Hartzman, vocalista do Wednesday, e já conta com um vídeo dirigido por Jasper Graham.
“The Gold Album” foi produzido por Klas Åhlund e Kenneth Blume, conhecido como Kenny Beats. Em um comunicado à imprensa, Blume declarou sua intenção de fazer “o álbum mais violento do Weezer”. O novo trabalho também incluirá a faixa “Shine Again”, já divulgada anteriormente. Este lançamento segue os álbuns “Van Weezer” e “OK Human”, ambos de 2021.
